Faith & Belief in Jesus
Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Blessed
[are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children
of God.
Matthew 5:8-9
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter
into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my
Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 7:21
And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou
hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed
in the selfsame hour.
Matthew 8:13
And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose,
and ministered unto them.
Matthew 8:15
And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little
faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and
there was a great calm. But the men marveled, saying, What manner
of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
Matthew 8:26-27
At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who
is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a
little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And
said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become
as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child,
the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:1-4
And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning
together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked
him, Which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered
him, The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel;
The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy
God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy
mind, and with all thy strength: this [is] the first commandment.
And the second [is] like, [namely] this, Thou shalt love thy
neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater
than these.
Mark 12:28-31
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even
so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth
in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved
the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 3:14-16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten
Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to
condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth
not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the
name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:16-18
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that
cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me
shall never thirst.
John 6:35
And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which
seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life:
and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:40
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of
the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but
shall have the light of life.
John 8:12
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye
continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed; and ye
shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:31-32
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life:
he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest
thou this?
John 11:25-26
Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not
on me, but on him that sent me. And he that seeth me seeth him
that sent me. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever
believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man
hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not
to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth
me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the
word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last
day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent
me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should
speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever
I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
John 12:44-50
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And
the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep
your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Philippians 4:13
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue;
and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to
temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness
brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if
these things be in you, and abound, they make [you that ye shall]
neither [be] barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord
Jesus Christ.
2 Peter 1:5-8
Families: Marriage & Children
And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother: And
he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper? And he said, What
hast thou done: the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto
me from the ground. And now art thou cursed from the earth, which
hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy
hand; When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield
unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou
be in the earth. And Cain said unto the Lord, My punishment is
greater than I can bear.
Genesis 3:9-13
Honour thy father and thy mother, as the Lord thy God hath
commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may
go well with thee, in the land which the Lord thy God giveth
thee.
Exodus 20:12
Neither shalt thou commit adultery.
Exodus 20:14
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart,
be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not
the law of thy mother.
Proverbs 1:8

her mouth is smoother than oil; But her end is bitter as wormwood,
sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps
take hold on hell.
Proverbs 5:3-5
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir
up anger. The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but
the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
Proverbs 15:1-2
Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before
a fall.
Proverbs 16:18
Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath
babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of
eyes? They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek
mixed wine. Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when
it giveth his colour in the cup, [when] it moveth itself aright.
At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall
utter perverse things. Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down
in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of
a mast. They have stricken me, [shalt thou say, and] I was not
sick; they have beaten me, [and] I felt [it] not: when shall
I awake? I will seek it yet again.
Proverbs 23:29-35
The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left [to himself]
bringeth his mother to shame.
Proverbs 29:15
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose
under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die: a time
to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time
to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time
to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn,
and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to
gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain
from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to
keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to
sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love,
and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the
evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt
say, I have no pleasure in them.
Ecclesiastes 12:1
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put
darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for
sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Isaiah 5:20
Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength
to mingle strong drink.
Isaiah 5:22
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall
lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the
fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the
cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down
together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking
child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child
shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den. They shall not hurt
nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full
of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
Isaiah 11:6-9
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves:
be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Matthew 10:16
At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who
is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a
little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And
said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become
as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child,
the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:1-4
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and
have not charity, I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling
cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand
all mysteries, and have all knowledge; and though I have all
faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity,
I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor,
and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity,
it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, and is kind;
charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed
up. Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is
not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity,
but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all
things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never
faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether
there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge,
it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in
part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which
is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as
a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when
I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through
a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but
then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith,
hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
I Corinthians 13:1-13
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a
child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away
childish things.
I Corinthians 13:11
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment
with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest
live long on the earth. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children
to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of
the Lord.
Ephesians 6:1-4
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Philippians 4:13
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is
fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter
against them. Children, obey your parents in all things: for
this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your
children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
Colossians 3:18
Children, obey [your] parents in all things: for this is well
pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children [to
anger], lest they be discouraged.
Colossians 3:20-21
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall
come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous,
boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful,
unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers,
incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors,
heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from
such turn away.
2 Timothy 3:1-5
But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: that
the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity,
in patience. The aged women likewise, that they be in behavior
as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine,
teachers of good things; that they may teach the young women
to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
to be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their
own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Young men
likewise exhort to be soberminded. In all things showing thyself
a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity,
sincerity, sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that
is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing
to say of you.
Titus 2:1-8
Fear
[Let your] conversation [be] without covetousness; [and be]
content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will
never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
Hebrews 13:5
The Lord [is] my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
the Lord [is] the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked, [even] mine enemies and my foes, came upon me
to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. Though an host should
encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should
rise against me, in this [will] I [be] confident.
Psalms 27:1-3
I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me,
and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit,
out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established
my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise
unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in
the Lord.
Psalms 40:1-3
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and
though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though
the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains
shake with the swelling thereof. Be still, and know that I am
God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in
the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is
our refuge.
Psalms 46:1-3, 10-11
I called upon the Lord in distress: the Lord answered me,
[and set me] in a large place. The Lord [is] on my side; I will
not fear: what can man do unto me?
Psalms 118:5-6
Keep sound wisdom and discretion: So shall they be life unto
thy soul, and thy foot shall not stumble. When thou liest down,
thou shall not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep
shall be sweet. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the
desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall
be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
Proverbs 3:21-26
And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little
faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and
there was a great calm. But the men marveled, saying, What manner
of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!
Matthew 8:26-27
Fear of the Lord
Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart:
for consider how great [things] he hath done for you.
1 Samuel 12:24
The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony
of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of
the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the
Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is
clean, enduring forever: the judgments of the Lord are true and
righteous together. More to be desired are they than gold, yea,
than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Psalms 19:7-10
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments
with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, [and]
apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after
knowledge, [and] liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou
seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as [for] hid treasures;
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the
knowledge of God. For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth
[cometh] knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 2:1-6
The fear of the Lord [is] to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy,
and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Proverbs 8:13
By humility [and] the fear of the Lord [are] riches, and honour,
and life.
Proverbs 22:4
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to
kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both
soul and body in hell.
Matthew 10:28
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication,
uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness,
which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh
on the children of disobedience.
Colossians 3:5-6
Following Jesus
And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren,
Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into
the sea: for they were fishers. And he saith unto them, Follow
me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightaway
left their nets, and followed him.
Matthew 4:18-20
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and
broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there
be which go in thereat: Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow
[is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that
find it.
Matthew 7:13-14
And he shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he
that endureth to the end shall be saved.
Matthew 10:22
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded
you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the
world. Amen.
Matthew 28:19-20
And when he had called the people [unto him] with his disciples
also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him
deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever
will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his
life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. For
what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world,
and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for
his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my
words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall
the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his
Father with the holy angels.
Mark 8:34-38
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And
the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep
your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
Forgiveness
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness:
according to the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my
transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse
me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin
is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and
done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified
when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest
. Purge
me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be
whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the
bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from
my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean
heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
Psalms 51:1-10
For as the heaven is high above the earth, [so] great is his
mercy toward them that fear him. As far as the east is from the
west, [so] far hath he removed our transgressions from us.
Psalms 103:11-12
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the
government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be
called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting
Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of [his] government
and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David,
and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment
and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the
Lord of hosts will perform this.
Isaiah 9:6-7
And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse,
and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the
Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and
of the fear of the Lord; And shall make him of quick understanding
in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight
of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: But
with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with
equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth
with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall
he slay the wicked. And righteousness shall be the girdle of
his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
Isaiah 11:1-5
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art
in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be
done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily
bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And
lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine
is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Matthew 6:9-13
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against
any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you
your trespasses.
Mark 11:25
And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that
is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver
us from evil.
Luke 11:4
Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee,
rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass
against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn
again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him.
Luke 17:3-4
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the
truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and
just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his
word is not in us.
1 John 1:8-10
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye
sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father,
Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our
sins: and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole
world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his
commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his
commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso
keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected:
hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in
him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
1 John 2:1-6
Friends, Conformity &
Peer Pressure
I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work
of them that turn aside; [it] shall not cleave to me. A froward
heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked [person].
Psalms 101:3-4
Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way
of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass
away. For they sleep not, except when they have done mischief;
and their sleep is taken away, unless they cause some to fall.
For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth
more and more unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is
as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
Proverbs 4:14-19
For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and
her mouth is smoother than oil; But her end is bitter as wormwood,
sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps
take hold on hell.
Proverbs 5:3-5
Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man
thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare
to thy soul.
Proverbs 22:24-25
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put
darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for
sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Isaiah 5:20
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed
by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that
good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Romans 12:2
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what
fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what
communion hath light with darkness?
2 Corinthians 6:14
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness,
but rather reprove [them].
Ephesians 5:11
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall

boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful,
unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers,
